We are a group of technologists mentoring the next generation of early career developers to hack on climate solutions and meet Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.
Program Earth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that champions the next generation of developers to build talent, foster networks, and expand industry commitment to holistic climate solutions innovating environmental stewardship and corporate sustainability. We do this through our flagship fellowship program, hackathons, and mentor volunteering to support the tech behind climate projects that empower locally while having global impact.
ProgramEarth launched as a response to accelerate carbon capture through reforestation. According to the United Nations, one of the most effective ways to reduce our carbon footprint is by restoring and returning 50% of natural areas into conservation.
We are the children of land stewards who combined their deep connections to the earth with technology. ProgramEarth was conceived as a global, interdisciplinary initiative with one goal: to harness the best of technology, the depth of Indigenous ecological knowledge, and community-driven action to create a comprehensive, executable plan to restore the planet’s health. This plan wouldn’t just be theoretical; it would be practical, scalable, and accessible to everyone- from corporations to local communities and individuals.
We translate projects from Indigenous communities, who steward over 80% of the world’s current natural resources via reforestation and wetland preservation; playing a crucial role in towards carbon sequestration and lowering our carbon footprint.
Our software and research fellowships combine environmental stewardship and developer workflows, training emerging technologists to support impactful nature conservation projects and join top tech companies with the expertise of managing large teams and user bases.
With CO2 levels up 30% due to expanding data centers, sustainability needs to be part of everyone’s workflow. We provide a playbook for companies to offset their carbon footprint through volunteering events with the fellowship. Your impact on environmental projects can be tracked through a conservation dashboard to meet ESG goals.
86% of the world's biodiversity is protected by Indigenous communities. We are guided by their knowledge and vision for whole ecosystems impact such as rematriation and permaculture.
We prioritize projects that are fostering biodiversity as the UN supports that it is our most effective and efficient strategy to stabilize climate change.
Our biodiversity projects restore and replenish flora and fauna as a way to decarbonize their consumption.
Fellows experience collaboration within cross geo teams as they build platforms for climatetech initiatives with the same security and compliance as Enterprise tech workflows. Fellows have a 10% higher chance of landing roles through this DevSecOps curriculum.
We are bringing back Indigenous plants in collaboration with land trusts that are good for the environment and can also withstand the changing conditions of drought, flooding, wildfires, while replenishing nutrients and minerals to the land.
The data we facilitate help land trusts make cases for the resources needed to remove invasive species that are drying up creeks and making land arable. By replenishing Indigenous species, we also protect against loss of land through erosion and wild fires.
